Since 1861 the Beau-Rivage Palace has been a destination for the world’s glitterati. With past guests that include Coco Chanel and Charlie Chaplin, Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland to this very day offers guests rustic Swiss hospitality in a delightfully luxurious setting. Historically, the Palace is known to be the location in which the Treaty of Lausanne was signed. The property is located on the banks of Lake Geneva in the quaint city of Lausanne. It is a short 45-minutes’ drive from Geneva and a 10 minutes’ walk from Lausanne’s city centre. The property comprises both the Beau-Rivage building and Palace wing. The interiors feature tapestries, stained glass windows, murals and frescos enhancing the Palace’s ambiance. The property’s neo-baroque architecture is rounded out by elegant high ceilings and antique mirrors.
The property’s 168 rooms and suites are largely inspired by the golden age of Versailles. Featuring toile de Jouy linens, accented with robin-egg blue and dusty pink, the décor is finished with rich mahogany wood. The elegant period furniture rounds each space out while Bulgari toiletries are provided complementary in every bathroom. The very best rooms offer guests their very own balcony with splendid views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and tranquil lake.
With regards to dining, the hotel is home to a two Michelin-starred fine-dining restaurant led by Anne-Sophie Pic. The property also offers Miyako Lausanne (Japanese), L’Accademia (Italian) and Café Beau-Rivage (French). For the more adventurous, Beau-Rivage Palace offers gourmet dining at sea (better yet, Lake Geneva) during the summer months on a steamboat.
Last but far from least, Beau-Rivage Palace grants guests access to Cinq Mondes spa. Facilities include Promenade de Pluie Tropicale (Tropical Rain promenade) in the changing rooms, a fitness centre with views of the lake, a salon featuring Shu Uemura products, hammams, saunas and two outdoor tennis courts.
