What are some of the clinics you work with and recommend and what sets them apart?

Clinique La Prairie, Switzerland  is a pioneering Health and Wellness clinic in Switzerland. With 50 specialists on hand, along with operating theatres, 20 post-operative rooms and six recovery suites in the medical centre, you can book in for a hip replacement, triple bypass, dental implants, sports rehab, or a comprehensive general check-up. Alternatively, in the white-on-white spa area, sign up for a sleep-improvement, weight-loss, stop-smoking or detox programme, or splash the cash on a Master Detox. That includes having your DNA examined to show what maladies you might be prone to and your levels of heavy metals measured in between being massaged, wrapped, steamed, soaked and facialised.

The London General Practice, is the leading practice for private GP services. The clinic  specialises in building meaningful relationships with all patients and ensures that they allow adequate time for a comprehensive, thorough and accurate personal health assessments as part of every visit. The high-end practice has consultation facilities on Harley Street, which is linked to an excellent range of diagnostic and analytical facilities, many of which are available in the same building.

Where are your top wellness destinations for 2020 and why?

There is no shortage of wellness destinations to pique one’s interest for 2020. Palace Merano Espace Henri Chenotin, Italy is a glitzy, glossy palace known for its impressive detox and weightloss programme. Consultations in the slick spa are broken up by tiny but tasty meals in one of the two dietetic restaurants. There is a gym and fitness centre plus outdoor and indoor pools, and plenty of other activities to keep you busy: cycling, cookery workshops, Nordic walking, pilates and water aerobics. If you want to relax, book an appointment at the hairdresser or head for the tea bar. The wellness spa is overseen by an army of doctors who assess your health with blood tests, vitamin drips and bone density x-rays. Specific diet plans are prescribed; programmes on offer include anti-ageing and detox. There is also a sauna, Kniepp paths, Turkish herbal baths, and a daily regime of mud wraps and painful detoxifying massages. What’s unique about the concept behind SHA Wellness in Alicante Spain is that it’s far more than sit-ups and calorie counting—as while that works wonders in a controlled environment like SHA—as soon as you return to the thrum of London life, it only takes a few days before you succumb to cocktails and caffeine. On the subject of food – the largely vegan and vegetarian menu at SHA is divine. They offer three levels varying in severity – depending on your goals around weight loss and your city habits towards a surfeit of rich ingredients, red meat, caffeine and alcohol. Here it seems there’s nothing they haven’t thought of. From aesthetic beauty experiences like manicures and eyelash extensions, to vitamin infusions, botox to sleep recovery. Surrounded by specialists – truly you can test everything from your iron levels to the capacity of your memory.

What are your favourite wellness products for 2020?

The global fascination with DNA  and related projects will be taken one step further — to help with an individual’s health and wellbeing. DNA and epigenetics testing can be used to tell you details about your internal health, show you where you need to make changes to your diet and fitness regime and then allow you to monitor the impact on your body. In 2020, we will increasingly see everyone from professional athletes to those just wanting to get fitter incorporating DNA kits into their everyday training regimes, taking out the guesswork and ensuring that they stay on track to attain their fitness goals.
