Perhaps 2020 is not turning out how we thought it would. After the colossal earth-shake of the pandemic, what’s certain is that we’re going to be travelling more thoughtfully. Here Insignia Team delivering a dose of travel inspiration for 2021 holidays so you have something to look forward to. Of course, the options are endless, and the world will always be there for exploring, but this is our pick of the spots that should not be missed.

Vietnam

Vietnam is must-see on the Southeast Asian travel circuit. The variety offered in this country will keep your list of possible adventures full. The landscape boasts emerald paddy fields, crystal clear white-sand beaches, vast caves, craggy mountains and limestone islands that loom dramatically out of the sea. But what makes Vietnam really essential is the curiosity, warmth and hospitality of its people, that and their delicious cuisine of course.

Where to stay: Amanoi

Amanoi is a tranquil and secluded contemporary resort that overlooks the pristine Vinh Hy Bay in Nui Chua National Park and offers its guests private and exclusive access to its gorgeous golden sand beaches. The hotel has two wellness villas with in-house therapists and treatments included, an exclusive Aman Spa offering personalised multi-day wellness immersions, or personalised adventures with water sports and cycling. The seasonal menus highlight fragrant Vietnamese cuisine served within the luxury hotel’s polished and sleek landscape. Enjoy total luxury and privacy at Amanoi.

Slovenia

Often described as Europe’s best-kept secret, Slovenia is peppered with impressive vineyards, medieval castles, old port towns, picturesque lakes as well as boasting beautiful views of the riviera. Sharing the Alps with Austria and Hungary and sandwiched between Italy and Croatia along the Adriatic coast, Slovenia has a little bit of something for everyone. The fresh air and beautiful landscapes will give you a refreshed feeling when vacationing in Slovenia, but rest assured that there is nightlife to spare, from cool bars to clubs that run into the night and spill out to the early hours.

Where to stay: Hotel Grad Otočec

Hotel Grad Otočec, part of Relais & Chateaux, occupies an enchanting castle in the middle of River Krka, which winds along the wine-growing hills of Dolenjska. The grounds include a prestigious 18-hole golf course and a private winery. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of the castle park with its surrounding indigenous trees and elegant white swans. For privacy and luxury all in one, make sure to check this castle out.

Los Cabos, Mexico

Whether celebrating a big event or looking for a laid-back vacation, Los Cabos is a place that will remain lodged in your memory. Here you will find the pristine, crystal-clear blue waters of the Sea of Cortez to enjoy during the day as well as an energetic nightlife as the sun sets. Welcoming travellers from all over the world, this location is frequented by celebrities looking to escape the mundane and indulge in some well-deserved privacy.

Where to stay: Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos

If you want to enjoy Mexico’s only privately-owned tunnel, choose to stay at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos. The hotel provides an exclusive experience with breath-taking views and a personal concierge as well as thoughtful personal touches and plenty of welcome gifts to get your holiday started.

Costa Rica

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica is renowned for its sustainable tourism and commitments to eco-initiatives as well as possessing more than six per cent of the world’s biodiversity—more than the USA and Europe combined. Surrounded by incredible natural landscapes, adventures such as private forest tours and visits to remote indigenous reserves are typical.

Where to stay: Four Seasons Costa Rica Papagayo

From the hillside perch overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Four Seasons Costa Rica Papagayo is your launchpad to endless adventures. After a day of zip lining, surfing or hiking a volcano, return to the tropical retreat for farm-and-sea-to-table dining, refreshing dips in one of the four on-site swimming pools or a relaxing spa treatment.
