The lakes in Italy have been ultimate destinations since Roman times. From Lake Orta in the west to Lake Garda in the east, each differing in size and character. Their shores, home to sleepy lakeside towns and busy water sports resorts alike, still retain a mystery and magic that attracts numerous visitors every year.

The jewel of these though is undoubtedly the stunning Lake Como. Long celebrated as a playground for the fashionable elite, Como has historically embraced romantic poets, writers, artists, and aristocrats.

One of its major draws Bellagio, fringed by cypress trees this is the wonderfully picturesque town enjoys unique settings and incredible panoramas of the beautiful lake.

Devoid of noisy bars and flashy casinos, Como offers calming, infinite waters, shades of silver dawn and the gentle sound of shutters sighing open to mark the start of a peaceful day.

It’s an idyllic location for linen suits; tanned legs stretched out on exquisite terraces and understated elegance.  Start your lazy morning at smart cafes, followed by afternoons on the tennis courts. Explore the lake by the boat but take the time to discover well-hidden gems such Varenna’s Castello di Vezio, with its birds of prey and stunning vistas, or Tremezzo’s Villa Carlotta and its exotic botanical gardens.
