With a history that dates back 170 years, Baur au Lac is quite literally a breath of fresh air in the Swiss Alps. The property overlooks a pristine lake, surrounded by snowcapped mountains yet only minutes’ walk from Zurich’s financial hub of Paradelplatz and the glittering shops of Bahnhofstrasse. Having been owned by the same family for six generations, this property combines modern hospitality with family-style teamwork.

Each room features generously-sized marble bathrooms with heated flooring. With state-of-the-art amenities, guests can enjoy all the comforts of the hotel’s technological refinement while being immersed in a variety of design sensibilities including Art Deco, King Louis XVI and English Regency. Complemented by French, Italian and English fabrics, each room and suite places comfort, luxury and privacy above all else.

Home to Pavillon, Baur au Lac takes fine dining seriously. Designed by world-renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, Pavillon is led by Michelin-starred chef Laurent Eperon offering guests “seasonal and modern interpretations of classic haute-cuisine”. This property also features Rive Gauche offering Mediterranean specialties and exclusive wines from the Baur au Lac winery. Le Hall is a delightful place to enjoy a dessert or aperitif. From October to March, it also offers High Tea.

Whether travelling for business or pleasure, Baur au Lac continues to be a destination for discerning travelers. With each space offering distinctive comfort complemented by legendary Swiss hospitality, this property has earned its enviable reputation in spades.
