London Brunch Fest

For the second year in a row, the London Brunch Fest is coming to The Old Truman Brewery on 31 August – 1 September. Ten of the capital’s best brunch restaurants will be serving up signature dishes and menus, alongside a host of breakfast and brunch brands, who will be selling and sampling their wares. The extensive list of established and new-comer brands includes, Heck Sausages, Good and Proper Tea, Origin Coffee and The Flour Station. There are also workshops dedicated to all things brunch, such as making your own granola or learning to cold-brew coffee.

Norma London

The Stafford, one of London’s preeminent traditional English hotels is set to open its first independent restaurant in its 107-year history. This summer, Sicilian-inspired Norma will open on Charlotte Street across three floors of a lively townhouse. Having previously worked with the likes of Jason Atherton and Stephen Terry, Ben Tish, the Stafford’s current culinary director, will take charge as the head chef. Using seasonal Italian and British ingredients, the menu will include grilled meat and fish, anti-pasti and pastas, as well, there will be a crudo bar serving raw seafood.

Kanishka Restaurant

One of the UK’s best-known Indian chefs Atul Kochhar is opening Kanishka in Mayfair, a two-floor 127-cover restaurant specialising in the lesser-known recipes and cooking methods from the Seven Sister states in the northeast of India. The menu finds inspiration as well from bordering China, Nepal and Bangladesh, plus local dishes that utilise nontraditional Indian cooking techniques, such as steaming, grilling, preserving and curing, all created with seasonal British ingredients.

Mercado Little Spain

A love letter to Spain from acclaimed chef José Andrés and his team, Mercado Little Spain is inspired by the mercados of Andrés’s home country. It’s a space for socialising with family and friends, business lunches, or a quick meal on the go. An all-day dining destination for food lovers, Andrés has also brought onboard his friends and fellow chefs Albert and Ferran Adrià as creative collaborators. The three first worked together in the kitchen of el Bulli, once regarded as the best restaurant in the world. This is the first time they are bringing their combined culinary skill, as well as best products and recipes from Spain – to New York City’s Hudson Yards.
