London is a timeless city that offers a fascinating mix of historical and modern elements alongside an influx of impressive and diverse gastronomic locations.
Daniel Humm and Will Guidara from Eleven Madison Park to open in Claridge’s
Daniel Humm and Will Guidara are two of the biggest culinary names the world over. In 2017, their restaurant, Eleven Madison Park, was voted number one in the world according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, an influential annual list. The restaurant is one of only five in New York to hold three Michelin stars. Its modus operandi is to offer fine dining without pretence and embraces the heritage of its location. Now, they are set to elevate the London restaurant scene with their new outpost inside Claridge’s. The concept will be new but diners can expect world-class entrées inside the country’s finest hotel. Humm worked at Claridge’s when he was just 15 years old, and holds a deep personal connection to the illustrious property.
Jason Atherton opens the Betterment at the Biltmore Hotel
Mayfair welcomes another five-star Hotel when the Biltmore opens on Grosvenor Square, taking over what was once the Millennium Hotel. Inside, Jason Atherton will be leading on the food and beverage across the property, which includes the hotel’s all-day restaurant The Betterment, The Tea Lounge and The Pine Bar, as well as an alfresco terrace. Look out for the brasserie-style menu at The Betterment, which will include an open grill that serves up wood-fired fish and meats alongside a large selection of signature salads and plant-based dishes. Atherton is no stranger to hotel partnerships, as he also runs The Berners Tavern at the London Edition and The Clocktower at the New York Edition, as well as the Marina Social at the InterContinental Dubai Marina.
