Today there are many concerns regarding our health and many experts advising us how we should eat. We must pay close attention to our diets, but eating well should not only benefit your body, but your mind as well.

Blue Hill Farm New York City – 75 Washington Place NY 10011

The Farmer’s Feast—a six course tasting menu of the week’s harvest from Blue Hill Farm in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and local farms—is a must. The Michelin-rated one-star Greenwich Village location is a haven for foodies, with artful menu items such as the yellow beet and celery root risotto and hake with brussel sprouts. Blue Hill’s menu showcases producers who respect artisanal techniques.

The Little Beet Table – 333 Park Ave. South, NY 10010

In Midtown, The Little Beet table serves elegantly plated, gluten-free food and drinks in a rustic space. Order from the appetizers menu and share a farmer’s market salad, tuna tataki and white bean & kale soup. For mains opt for the happy valley grass-fed double burger or chipotle pork carnitas tacos.

HanGawi – 12 East 32nd Street NY 10016

The philosophy at the K-town vegan restaurant Hangawi is simple: the ideal diet consists of a harmonious coupling of foods, such as greens and fruit, with their yang brethren, a category that includes mainly root vegetables.  Here, even the meat lovers among us – can leave feeling not only full but satisfied. Dishes worth noting are their tofu-infused options, and entrees like organic, gluten-free Zen noodles with a panoply of mushrooms and assorted vegetables in brown sauce and fresh grilled todok strips in a gluten-free tamari soy sauce.

Dirt Candy – 86 Allen St., NY 10002

Vegetarians unite, for Amanda Cohen has created an amazing temple of garden delights with her aptly-named Dirt Candy. This attractive restaurant serves sumptuous fare with flair and panache. A small, well-curated menu takes vegetables to a new level, with beans appearing in a pageant alongside coconut-poached tofu, saffron sauce, Moroccan herbs, and sizzling rice, broccoli dogs with broccoli kraut and vinegar broccoli rabe. A full bar, counter seating, a wine list curated by sommelier Lauren Friel. Starting September 5, Dirt Candy will only offer an a la carte menu at the bar and at brunch. Diners coming for dinner will have a choice of The Vegetable Patch featuring five courses of Dirt Candy’s greatest hits, or they can take a trip to The Vegetable Garden, which is at least nine courses and changes according to the season.

Foragers Table – 300 W 22nd St, NY 10011

From the ground up, Foragers understands what it takes to make delicious, fresh, and healthy food. From their farm in upstate New York to the markets and restaurant in New York City, Foragers has been influencing the way New Yorkers eat since 2005. They source every product they sell from farmers and producers they know, so they can be sure the meats are free from antibiotics and hormones, the fish is sustainably harvested, and the eggs, dairy, and produce are organic.
