It may only be early October, but the top purveyors of luxury have all come out with their very best hampers this week. It’s no surprise that our top hamper is from Harrods. Aptly titled The Decadence Hamper, this exquisite offering comes in a fleet of generously appointed trunks each filled to the brim with fine wines, Champagnes and spirits, cured meat, savouries, exotic teas and coffees, sweets and other beloved Christmas goodies.

There’s no mistaking the complexity of its botrytised flavours: orange, honey, peach and ginger combine. It is rich and honeyed but has a streak of acidity that slices through its 150g/l of residual sugar. Balanced, complex with endless length.
